10.09.2024- Helsinki, Finland - Neonomics is pleased to announce the appointment of Panu Poutanen as their new Head of Growth and Interim Country Manager in Finland.

Panu will focus on expanding large corporate commercial activities and growing Neonomics customer base across the Nordics, with specific focus on the Finnish market in the short term. Panu comes to Neonomics after playing a pivotal role as General Manager Finland for Viva.com, Europe´s first entirely cloud-based payment services provider, growing the team in Finland to 20+ employees and seeing triple digit growth year on year over the last four years. Before his time at Viva.com, he held senior sale leadership roles at Nets Group and Bookers Group.

Panu brings a proven track record of successfully selling innovative payments products against strong incumbents.

“Pay by Bank is evolving at an incredible pace, and more businesses are waking up to the vast opportunities open banking presents beyond just payments,” said Panu, Head of Growth at Neonomics. “Finland is a particularly exciting market with high adoption rates but still significant untapped potential. Open banking isn’t just about convenience; it’s about empowering users with more secure, seamless experiences online. There’s also immense potential on the data side where I firmly believe this journey is only just beginning. I’m excited to take on this new leadership challenge and help shape the future of open banking in Finland and beyond.”

Neonomics is accelerating its focus on helping companies large and small transition into open banking, with plans to launch a suite of innovative product offerings this fall to take the next step in this highly diverse and competitive market.

Ado Fazlic, Chief Commercial Officer of Neonomics, commenting on the new appointment, said, “Harnessing the momentum we have seen in the last year, we are excited to bring on such a highly regarded team member to take lead as we enter this important next phase for our company. As a former professional hockey player, Panu brings the grit and team-first spirit we need to fight the incumbents on behalf of merchants and companies seeking more cost efficient and agile payments and data services.”

Neonomics will be attending Copenhagen Fintech Week in September and London’s Open Banking Expo in October. Book a chat with Panu here.
